At Polygon, we collectively agreed that Blue Prince was the best game of 2025. The puzzle-roguelike from Dogubomb, led by Tonda Ros, is full of secrets as the player must gradually uncover more rooms in a constantly changing mansion to reveal the mystery within. Even after 100 hours, chances are you’ll still have more to find and learn.
In 2025, Blue Prince made its Summer Games Done Quick debut, with speedrunners RadRingtail and BobbyBurm competing against each other in a “bingo” race. This essentially combined the main goal of the game — reaching the antechamber, aka room 46 — with other side objectives.
In July, there will be a dedicated Blue Prince tournament following similar bingo-style rules and organized by Dogubomb itself. $20,000 is up for grabs, and if you want to partake, there are two qualifiers happening on July 12 and 19. The top four participants from these will join eight invitees, including RadRingtail from SGDQ 2025 (BobbyBurm is the host for this competition) to compete for the prizes.
Understanding all the rules is no mean feat, and they’ll likely only make sense if you’re already well embedded in the competitive Blue Prince scene. For example, you’re allowed to prism key warp and perform the lint roller trick, but you cannot use intentional glitches or close the game to retry a day. Additionally, there are a plethora of game modes, such as a 5×5 board where the first to 13 wins, or a 7×7 board where the most goals accomplished in one hour is victorious.
Alongside the monetary prizes are keys, which unlock doors on the tournament live stream. These include things such as the Blue Prince original soundtrack on vinyl, original concept art, and physical books based on items in the game, with inscriptions from Tonda Ros. You can read all about the Blue Prince invitational on the official wiki page, and rounds from the top eight onwards will be streamed on BobbyBurm’s Twitch channel. These rounds are taking place on Aug. 8, 9, 15, and 16.
