To obtain hammerhead shark bones, you can either fish a hammerhead shark or buy the material. There are two hammerhead shark harpooning spots in Eleuthera, the northeast region on the map. The closest fast travel to these spots early in the game is Nassau.

One of the spots is located on the northern side of Eleuthera and northeast of Nassau (705, 868), while the other is on the southeastern part of the area, east of Nassau (776, 735).

Hammerhead sharks are weak compared to other sea animals in the game, so you don’t need to worry much about upgrading the Jackdaw’s harpoon. However, you can fish only one shark per spot, and the harpooning spots take some time to respawn, preventing you from quickly farming the material.

That’s when you should consider buying the hammerhead shark bones you need. You can find this material in general stores after you have unlocked the hideout in Great Inagua and have obtained the General Store I upgrade.
