In Palworld, nightstar sand is a mid-to-late-game resource that you’ll need to make things like metal detectors, beam swords, and other accessories. You won’t need too much to craft what you need, which is great, because it’s kind of an annoying resource to find.
You can’t get nightstar sand from ranching, but there’s a few places to farm it and there’s even some late-game Pals that drop it.

Where to find nightstar sand in Palworld
The “easiest” place to find nightstar sand in Palworld is on the northern coast of Feybreak Island at night, around the Scorched Ashland teleport point. The sand will glow on the ground, making it easy to spot. Just walk up to it and collect it when you see it.
The shore along the northwestern side of Feybreak Island, around the Curved Redrock teleport point also has nightstar sand.
If you’re struggling to find enough sand during the very short night cycle, you can change how long days and nights last your world settings. By default, nighttime only lasts around five minutes, not giving you very much time to nab this sand.
Two Pals can also drop nightstar sand: Starryon Primo and Wistella, but these Pals are only found numerously in the wild in the extremely end-game World Tree area, so you may be better off farming them off the ground in the above areas.
