GTA 6 release date could be confirmed next month

When Grand Theft Auto 6 is eventually released, there’s little doubt it will be one of the best-selling games of all time. Even though the game is currently slated for Thursday, November 19, there’s still plenty of speculation that it could see another delay, which would be its third in total.

Take-Two Interactive Software — the parent company of Rockstar Games — has announced it will host a live-streamed call to report its financial results for fiscal year 2026 on May 21. Grand Theft Auto 6 hasn’t gone gold yet, and likely won’t for quite some time, so this earnings call is perhaps the clearest indicator we’ll get on whether the November release date is still on the cards.

It’s safe to assume that if Take-Two reports its finances as being stable or on track, the Nov. 19 release date is unlikely to change. However, if forecasted revenue is shifted into fiscal year 2026/27, it may imply a third Grand Theft Auto 6 delay is imminent.

What’s the likelihood of this happening? Well, if you listen to the GTA 6 O’Clock podcast, the odds are slim. The two hosts, James Jarvis and Dan Dawkins, are both employees at Future Publishing, the parent company of video game media sites GamesRadar and PC Gamer. As a result, and due to the long history of the podcast, they often imply they have connections and insider knowledge.

“The chances of there being another delay attached… I’m pretty confident from the things that we’ve been hearing that there’s no delay incoming,” Jarvis claimed in episode 120 at around the six-minute mark. “I’m now like 96% confident in the November 19 release date.” Dawkins is similarly confident, saying he thinks there’s a one in 20 chance of “something, at this stage, blowing them [Rockstar Games] off course.”

Dawkins continued: “That’s not just me being preposterously gung-ho. We are part of an industry that is interconnected, we do have jobs in the industry, and you do hear things on the wind. I can’t say too much more, but I feel like my levels of confidence have grown.”

Until the game is in my hands, and I’m exploring the new and improved Vice City, I’m not hedging my bets on anything whatsoever. Especially since there’s the possibility Rockstar is developing an all-new GTA Online alongside GTA 6.
