“The Sage’s Buried Secret” quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced isn’t about stealth, fighting, or sailing; to complete Edward’s and James Kidd’s outing to the ancient Mayan temple in Tulum, you must rely almost solely on your brains and solve the three statue puzzles.
Here’s how to find the statue puzzle solutions and uncover “The Sage’s Buried Secret” in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
‘The Sage’s Buried Secret’ quest walkthrough in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
“The Sage’s Buried Secret” is part of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s main quest line. It will start automatically once you’ve found James Kidd during the “Nothing is True” quest in Tulum.
Follow Kidd into the Maya temple. After the bridge collapses, use the large roots on the wall to your left to cross the gap. Doing so will take you to the first statue puzzle.
To solve the puzzle, hang onto the red and blue statue heads adjacent to the door.
Follow James Kidd until you reach the second statue puzzle. To solve this puzzle, grab the lever and push or pull it one turn counterclockwise, so the red floor tiles are positioned below the red statue head on the wall. Let go of the lever and climb onto the red statue head, pulling it down.
If you accidentally placed the red statue head on the wrong tile, you can use the gray statue head (a bit further left) to lift it again. Just climb the wall and hang onto the gray statue like you did before.
When you reach the broken door, follow Kidd’s example and jump down the well. Dive underwater and swim toward the southeast. Kidd will then lead you to the third and final statue puzzle in “The Sage’s Buried Secret.”
To solve this statue puzzle, follow these steps:
- Raise the blue statue head on the left by pulling down the gray statue head. This will allow you to place the blue statue on the blue flooring (see picture above).
- Take the lever and turn the floor tiles one position counterclockwise, so the blue flooring is positioned below the blue statue head.
- Lower the blue statue head onto the blue floor tiles.
- Again, take the lever and turn the flooring one notch counterclockwise. Pull down the gray statue head on the left to lift the red statue head from the green flooring.
- Take the lever and rotate the floor one notch clockwise. Lower the green statue head to the green flooring.
- Take the lever and rotate the floor tiles one notch clockwise again. Place the red statue head on the red tiles.
Solving this statue puzzle completes “The Sage’s Buried Secret” quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The next quest is “Overrun and Outnumbered.”
